During his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard in April and May of 2022, Johnny Depp was the talk of the town. While he was victorious and received a large payout, he has admitted that the trial was primarily for the sake of his two children. The actor has two children with ex-wife Vanessa Paradis, Lily Rose-Depp, 23, and Jack Depp, 20, and they have chosen to remain silent on the subject.
On the other hand, Lily had already expressed her support for her father, sharing a since-deleted Instagram post in 2016 when news of abuse charges first appeared.
“My father is the sweetest, most loving guy I know; he’s been nothing but a fantastic Everyone who knows him will agree that he is a wonderful parent to my younger brother and myself.,” she wrote beside a photo of herself and her father.
While Jack had remained silent on the subject since he was still a child when the case initially emerged, Johnny has regularly gushed over his son’s abilities and how much he enjoys being his father.
He told the Philadelphia Inquirer in 2014, “My boy Jack is a really excellent draftsman.” “He’s an exceptional artist. He is also an excellent musician. He knows what he’s talking about. He hasn’t expressed any interest in acting outside of school plays and other events. Whew.”
“I’m sure it wasn’t easy for my 14-year-old boy to go to school, you know what I mean?” Johnny said about his son in 2018.
“‘Hey, man, look at this magazine,’ people would say. Is it true that your father beats up on women?’ Why had he to go through all of that? Why did it have to happen to my daughter?”
At the commencement of the trial, the Hollywood celebrity stated that the trial’s objective was to clear the air for his children’s sake.
“The news of her allegations had sort of infiltrated the industry and then made its way through media and social media to become rather a global, let’s say, ‘fact,’ if you will,” he explained.
“I felt it was my job to speak up, not only for myself in that situation but also for my children, because I knew there was no truth to it.” I wanted to make sure my kids didn’t have to read this horrible stuff about their father that was utterly false.”
Lily-Rose and Jack have maintained a tight bond as siblings, with the former even posting birthday homage to her brother.
